We’re just weeks away from this year’s Conference (27-28 Nov) and the presentation of our new Innovation in Volunteering Awards.

The awards are open to projects or initiatives that promote solidarity, democracy and social justice thereby creating a socially, economic and environmentally just Europe that’s inclusive for everyone.

Above all the project should demonstrate that it’s making a difference in citizen participation and can involve volunteers of any age and projects of any size. Full details are available HERE..

Members have been busy nominating and the lucky winner will be announced following the AGM at an awards reception on the evening of the 27th Nov, before the full conference begins the following day (28th).

Entitled ‘Taking democracy, European Values and Participation to a new level through European Programming’ the conference will bring together people from across civil society, academia, think-tanks and EU institutions.

Piotr Sadowski, Volonteurope Secretary General, said: “We’re really looking forward to our 28th Conference bringing together our members with decision makers from across Europe.

“As well as our keynote address on the importance of civil society in European policies and decision making, we’ll also be debating how we can make Europe work for everyone and promote democracy and European values through active participation.

“Then in the afternoon, members will be able to join workshops focussing on European-funded projects all around the world that are doing just that thanks to the activities of European volunteers.”
