Peter Nesbitt

Volonteurope Board Member

Peter currently works as International Recruitment Manager for Volunteering Matters, a UK based charity whose vision is of a society where everyone can participate in their local community through volunteering and social action. Peter has worked for the charity over an 11 year period on many of the organisation’s UK and international volunteering programmes. Peter specialises in working on a Full Time Volunteering programme and has supported and encouraged several thousand young people, from across 4 continents, to become active citizens through volunteering and engaging in social action in the UK.

Peter has extensive experience working with the Erasmus+ European Voluntary Service (EVS) programme (and preceding programmes), since 2005, coordinating hundreds of opportunities for young Europeans to volunteer in the UK. He has also worked on other European Commission programmes, such as Amicus and Leonardo, dating back to 2003.

Peter has developed exceptional skills and knowledge in Volunteer Management, Volunteering Policy, Partnership Management and Training and Development.  He believes everyone has something to offer and, with the right support, every volunteer, individual, community and civil society organisation can make a real difference.

Peter will use his skills and knowledge to support Volonteurope and to contribute towards expanding its membership, including investigating ways to reach and engage EU and Council of Europe countries that are not yet represented in the Network’s membership.
