Since the beginning of this year, Volunteering Matters, supported by Volonteurope, has been delivering a large-scale Strategic EVS Project focusing on young people’s contributions, through volunteering, to building solidarity in Europe. In the framework of the project, Volunteering Matters is aiming to place 60 long-term (up to 10 months) EVS volunteers and 30 short-term (1 month) volunteers from eligible countries in its own, as well as partner, volunteering projects in the UK. We are delighted to already have welcomed a number of volunteers from Volonteurope’s Spanish member, Alianza por la Solidaridad. We are shortly also going to have a volunteer from Turkey, France and Belgium, and are now calling out to more members and partners who might be interested in sending us their EVS volunteers.

Your organisation must be accredited as a sending organisation under EVS or, hold the now-applicable European Solidarity Corps Quality Label, to be able to send volunteers to us. We are looking for young people aged 18-30 who are interested in the two types of placements, either the long-term or the short-term volunteering. At this time of the year, we are likely to have more opportunities for long-term volunteering, as the short-term options tend to be more available over the summer months.

If you are interested, please contact David Hedges (david.hedges@volunteeringmatters.org.uk) and Piotr Sadowski (piotr.sadowski@volunteeringmatters.org.uk).
