Today is the last day to vote in the European Citizenship Awards!
The awards have already garnered an unprecedented number of votes – well over two thousand at last count – so make sure you get yours in too! Voting closes at midday CET today, so there’s still some time to cast your vote.
The aim of the awards is to recognise, and promote the outstanding and inspiring initiatives and individuals who are putting European democratic citizenship into practice, and in so doing are having a positive impact on their communities.
With four different categories to vote in – Campaign of the Year; Social Enterprise of the Year; Volunteer of the Year and Media Initiative of the Year – voters can throw their weight behind the nominees they think most deserving. Whoever wins though, what is vitally important is that the valuable and innovative work of European Citizens is being recognised and rewarded. All of them have demonstrated exemplary democratic and civic society engagement, qualities defining active and responsible European citizenship.
We’re excited to find out who our 2016 Laureates will be!
