SOLIDAR is organising the 2017 edition of the SOLIDAR Training Academy at the Volunteering Matters training center in Ipswich, United Kingdom from 7-8 July. The theme proposed for this year’s edition is Intercultural education, civic engagement and peaceful coexistence: learning how to build inclusive communities.
The 2017 edition of the Training Academy has been designed to work on the following issues in a transnational and European dimension:
- What could be the added value of working in a European CSOs network for staff of SOLIDAR member organisations? How civic engagement and activism at local level have an impact on promoting a culture of peace and tolerance at global level? What is the influence of local activism on European advocacy?
- How can SOLIDAR members spur the discussion on the future of Europe and possibly on the consequences of Brexit on CSOs engagement, education and social policies?
- How can SOLIDAR members increase knowledge and understanding on intercultural coexistence, migrant integration, and community mediation programmes?
- Exchange member’s good practices on prevention of discrimination in formal and non-formal education, intercultural education from a gender perspective, intercultural mediation?
Profile of participants: the training academy is open to staff members of SOLIDAR member organisations, young volunteers, social workers, social educators and activists.
Conditions: participation is reserved to one person per organisation (SOLIDAR members & partners). The training academy is free of charges and the travel and subsistence will be covered by SOLIDAR (reimbursement of travel costs after the event, following the standard reimbursement procedures).
