From the 5 March 2018 for a week Volunteering Matters is going to be all about its work with and for young people celebrating Young People’s Focus Week. The UK national charity meets the needs of four key communities with its high impact volunteering work – disabled people, families, retired & older people and young people.
They believe that young people can make all the difference to their communities and their lives through the power of volunteering, and their Young People’s Focus Week (5 – 11 March) is designed to demonstrate that to as many people as possible.
From their peer-led sexual health projects in south Wales to their projects befriending vulnerable young people in Central Scotland, and all their other many projects across the UK – there’s so many brilliant volunteers to talk about, and stories to tell.
Volunteering Matters will be holding events, and releasing new pieces of contents on to their website every day of the week – all designed to shout about their work to the rooftops and ideally get even more people involved. Either as volunteers, supporters or partners – you do not have to be young to find something of interest in the Young People’s Focus Week.
So if you would like to discover more about how volunteering projects can and have changed young people’s lives for the better in Wales, Scotland and England then maybe set a calendar reminder to check their website https://volunteeringmatters.org.uk/ out every day that week!
