Volonteurope is an international network promoting volunteering, active citizenship and social justice in Europe and beyond. About Volunteering Matters
Volunteering Matters (formerly CSV) has been leading UK volunteering in policy and practice for 52 years. We develop and deliver effective volunteer-led solutions to some of the most significant challenges facing individuals and their communities today. We know, through years of successful work, that investing in people through the power of volunteering makes a tangible difference; improving health and wellbeing, building stronger more cohesive communities and achieving lasting results.
Our vision is of a society where everyone can participate in their local community through volunteering and social action.
Our mission is to invest in people through volunteering to reduce inequalities and isolation, improve health and well-being and so build a stronger more inclusive society.
About the Role
This full-time internship post (35 hours), for a fixed period of six months, is split half-half between the Strategy Team at Volunteering Matters and the Volonteurope Secretariat.
This post will support both teams and will report to the Director of Strategy (who oversees strategy and European work).
The Policy team team promotes evidence based volunteering through research and dialogue. Its knowledge and intelligence underpin Volunteering Matters’ public affairs function, through which we undertake strategic influencing in Westminster and beyond. It develops and strengthens professional and practice networks, including NNVIA. The work of the policy team directly supports Volunteering Matters to increase its reach and impact across our four operational ‘pillars’: Families; Young People, Older People and Disabled People. Currently, the policy team is overseen by the Director of Strategy and consists of a Head of Policy, a Policy and Engagement Manager and an Impact and Evaluation Manager.
In return for your commitment we offer 25 days holiday per year (FTE) plus discretionary festive leave + public holidays. We also offer a 3% employer pension contribution, flexible working opportunities and enhanced employee benefits.
To apply, please send your CV, supporting statement & recruitment monitoring form to Andrew Balfour, email@example.com quoting the reference number.
Your supporting statement is of equal importance to us as your CV and is a key part of our shortlisting process. It is an opportunity for you to outline your experience and credentials directly to the details of the post.
Volunteering Matters is committed to the provision of equal opportunities in employment and accordingly wishes to ensure that no job applicant is treated less favourably on unjustifiable grounds. To assist in the monitoring of our performance in relation to equal opportunities you are requested to complete the enclosed monitoring form. The questionnaire is for statistical purposes only. Upon receipt it will be separated from your CV and cover letter and will not form part of the selection process.
