Equipping you to prevent trafficking in youth

Equipping you to prevent trafficking in youth, an Erasmus+ project involving Canada, countries of the Balkans and Malta!

At the end of September 2021, two Imago Mundi youth workers attended the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus + capacity building for youth project Equipping You to Prevent Trafficking in Youth. The meeting unfolded at Varna Management University, the Bulgarian partner of the project, along with the other partners – TOES Niagara from Canada, Imago Mundi from Romania (represented by Aura Constantinescu and Sanda Bâtan), Open Gata – La Strada from North Macedonia, and the coordinator of the project, Cross Culture International Foundation, Malta.

The project aims to raise awareness of the dangers of human trafficking, focusing on youths that are in danger of being exploited and trafficked. The partners worked on finding the best solutions to adapt the project timeline and activities to the context and realities of a world affected by the COVID pandemic. A training course involving all partners will unfold in November 2021 in Welland, Canada, local activities and online ones will take place as follow–up activities, and a job shadowing in Pitesti and a youth exchange in Malta will take place in 2021. Imago Mundi will work alongside with “Reach Out” organization from Romania, an organization specialised in fighting human trafficking, at the implementation of local and national activities on the topic.
